Hart for Haiti Event

This is a sticky post. That means it sticks at the top of my blog until after February 2. I totally did just learn that term. Scroll down for new posts.

If you are visiting Any Mommy Out There for information on the Hart for Haiti preschool dance and art sale on February 2, 2010, click here.

For all who read, but don’t live here on the border of Idaho with us, Saige and her brothers and I are organizing a preschool dance and art sale to raise money for God’s Littlest Angels in Haiti, the orphanage where she lived for the first fourteen months of her life. It’s called Hart for Haiti because the kids and their friends and classmates are creating all of the artwork for the sale. (I know, Matt hates it, he says it just looks like I can’t spell heart. I can spell heart, Matt, it’s clever, it’s a play on words.)

If you do live out here on the border of Idaho with us in Sp—-e (Matt’s going to kill me) and you want to help, email me at anymommyoutthere@gmail.com. If you agree with Matt that Hart for Haiti looks like I can’t spell heart, don’t email me. I’m nervous enough.

To read about GLA and the work they do in Haiti and to donate directly to God’s Littlest Angels visit their website.

THANK YOU!!! To some amazing people that have already helped SO much with this endeavor:

Kid Sports
MommyGeekology – She made that darling “hart” graphic for me and for Haiti.
Ann of Ann’s Rants – Check out how she helped GLA.

I'm going to Facebook this to all the husband's relatives in and around his hometown. Which happens to be where you live.

So good of you to help. The devistation over there is so difficult so see, but I don't think we should avert our eyes from the pain. Bless you. You are beautiful!

I have a 4H club… and my girls have learned how to make pillowcases. The would like to donate pillowcases to GLA. Is it too soon? Is that a silly and frivolous donation at this point. (Be honest, it won't hurt my feelings.)

Ok… it is probably too late… and I do LOVE the play on words, but as an option you could spell it hART for Haiti. (And here I thought you were scared of art… or at least the messes that come with it.) Best wishes on a successful event.

    What a wonderful event!

Alison and I were just looking at some photos of the devastation in Haiti and she wants to know what SHE can do to help, besides the obvious smashing the piggy bank and sending the conents.

    I think this is GREAT!

And, uh, can I admit I didn't catch the mis-spelling of Heart as Hart until you pointed it out? My brain needs more than the 2 cups of coffee it's had already, apparently!

What a wonderful, wonderful idea. Is it wrong that I was afraid to come read her for awhile because I knew you'd have something that would make me bawl and I just wasn't ready for that? I LOVE the idea.

How could anyone withstand the force of Any Mommy and NOT attend the Hart for Haiti gala? The logo is wonderful and I hope your dance is a screaming four hours of success!

All I can think is that Matt will kill you for telling the internet where to come steal your goods.

Good for you for helping a cause that you know so well. I'll click over to see what I can do.

That's OK, I didn't know what "sticky" meant for the longest time either. Now it seems so obvious.

I came across your blog via the link on God's Littlest Angels. Thanks to you I have spent a day in laughter and tears. Your blog is amazing, to the point that I am seriously considering whether or not I should continue writing mine. It is like a funnier, more articulate version of myself on the border of Idaho exists. I am a mom of three little ones (you're one up on me) and your candid humor and gut wrenching honesty are refreshing in today's world of perfect mommy's in the carpool line. Thanks for some persepective. I will be back!
